Bill was preceded in death by his father Michael, mother Eileen and brother Paul Hapka. Bill is survived by his wife Linda, sister-in-law Judy, her husband Lee Anders, nephew Chris Leinonen and his wife Brenda, their daughters Kailee and Brittany and nephew Tim Leinonen. 

 

Bill’s extended family also includes his dear goddaughter Toni Brennan, her two daughters Brianna and goddaughter Emilie, stepson Joe Ernst, his wife Kate and their two daughters, Amelia and Jane.

 

After graduating from DeLaSalle High School in Minneapolis Bill went to work for General Mills.  Shortly thereafter, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. Upon discharge Bill resumed his career with GMI working in computer systems until his early retirement in 1995.

 

Bill’s family, golfing buddies and friends, including his devoted 4-legged companion Bellaboo, all miss him but are relieved knowing he’s now healthy and in the arms of the Lord.

 

A Memorial Service will be held April 13 at 2 p.m. at the Baptist Church in Becker. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations to Wounded Warrior Project.
