BECKER, MN
JANUARY 11, 1986 – MAY 7, 2021
Spencer left this side of Heaven on Friday, May 7, 2021. From very early on, Mom and Dad realized that Spencer only had to see you do something once to learn it, whether it be starting a car, to running a skill saw. It was never a “jack of all trades, master of none” situation for him. He was a master of anything that piqued his interest, a real Renaissance Man. We always said he had more talent in his pinkie than we did in our entire bodies, sometimes to our great exasperation. Anything we could do, Spencer could do better, if he felt so inclined.
He wasn’t really a chameleon, more of a collector, adding to his repertoire of traits, and eccentricities. Mostly he was a dreamer and always a kid at heart. To Spencer, family was everything. He loved his life, his wife, and his motorcycle, and recently got back into fishing.
Not one for tact, Spencer was a straight shooter, sometimes using some very colorful language along the way. He used to say, “People think I am kidding, when really, I am just an a******.” But for those of us who love him, we knew it was mostly a front for the tender-hearted teddy bear he hid behind a burly, bearded biker.
Spencer was married just last June, and leaves behind his loving wife, Elizabeth “Liz”. He is also survived by his parents, Russell and Vicki (Dosh) Cox; his five siblings, Macoy (Nicole) Cox, Jena (Kent) Backes, Casey (Kyle) Kosloske, Riley (Sam) Tschida, and Logan Cox; twelve + nieces and nephews; and a plethora of aunts, uncles and cousins who love him. He was preceded in death by our grandpa, Harold Cox, Sr.; our little cousin, Jayci Wilson; and his dog, Russell.
Spencer, some of our best memories are of you. We love and miss you desperately as we Hold Fast to each other, and to God.
Due to the unique nature of our situation, we will be postponing funeral services until our mother is out of the hospital and well enough to attend.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. For more information on our brother and mother’s journey, please follow us on CaringBridge at https://www.caringbridge.org/visit/spencercox.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Becker.
