Scott Allen Johnson, 64, passed away on Sunday, July 30th, 2023.
On March 18, 1959, Scott was born in Princeton, Minn. to Norman and Margaret Johnson. Growing up Scott loved to have fun and made many friends with his sense of humor. He had fond memories of high school pranks and driving his canary yellow Mach 1 Mustang.
After graduating from Becker High School in 1977, Scott joined his Dad and brother, Steve, farming at the homestead in Becker off of Hwy. 25 and expanding North. The boys, along with their dad, formed Triple J Farms in the 1980s. But even before that the kids began selling sweet corn in a wagon on the side of the highway, which grew to be Norm’s Farm Market. This family business required many sacrifices but provided immense amounts of family time.
Scott married his high school sweetheart, Susan Houle, on February 22, 1980. The two shared everything in their lives; a happy home, the farm, and even a Facebook account. The two enjoyed traveling together; they visited many places in the United States and Canada. Their marriage served as an example to all who knew them about what dedication and love were supposed to look like.
Scott and Sue had two children, Sara and Sam. The four enjoyed many annual family fishing trips to Canada and Lake of the Woods. Scott especially loved having his grandchildren, Harper and Odin, tag along with him wherever he was; in the tractor, in the boat, or just at home.
Scott’s farming career had many accomplishments. He won several awards from the MN Corn and Soybean Growers Associations. He always kept striving and learning how to do things on the farm more efficiently while remaining dedicated to being a good steward to the land. He was proud to have his son, Sam, farm with him for the past 15 years.
Scott is survived by his father, Norman Johnson; wife, Susan; children, Sara (Chad) Peterson, Sam (Samantha Crowley) Johnson; grandchildren, Harper and Odin Peterson. He is also survived by his siblings, Steve (Jean) Johnson, Shelly (Buzz) Lorincz, Shawn (Susie) Johnson; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Johnson.
Visitation will be held at Mary of the Visitation Catholic Church, in Becker on Wednesday, August 9th, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. with the service to follow at 3:00 p.m. Arrangements have been entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Becker.
