Prayer services followed by a time of sharing was Wed., Feb. 17 at the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Becker for Rex Robert Bjorklund who passed from this world on February 11 at the tender age of 11. He has touched many with his kind, caring ways and loving spirit. Burial will be private at a later date. Visitation was Wed., Feb. 17, at the funeral home in Becker.
Rex was born August 23, 2004 to Chad Bjorklund and Stephanie (Nystrom) Keeton in Monticello. He was in the fifth grade, attending Becker Intermediate School. Rex was a very social kid, he greatly enjoyed the social aspect of sporting events. He loved Xbox and many sports including WWE, football and baseball. Rex also enjoyed participating in theater, allowing him to shine in the goofy, funny and loving way he always did off stage. He also enjoyed being outdoors, fishing or ice fishing in the cold months with his dad and grandpa, spending time at the family cabin or just being adventurous as he usually was. Rex was very smart and took an interest in science. He was a generous, caring, friendly and gentle soul who loved his sisters and family deeply. Rex will be sorely missed by all of us who have known, loved and cherished his beautiful spirit. Rex’s life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by him understand that his quality of life far exceeds the quantity of time in which he was with us.
Rex is survived by his parents, Stephanie Keeton (Dustin Opatz) of Clear Lake, Chad Bjorklund (Susie Bierwerth) of Becker; siblings, Reese Keeton, Aubrey Opatz, Hazel Opatz, Taylor Bierwerth, Dani Bierwerth; grandparents, Jim and Roxie Rupnow of River Falls, WI, Stevan and Barbara Bjorklund of Becker; step grandparents, Greg and Kathy Opatz of Sartell; aunts and uncles, Mike Bjorklund of Becker, Heidi Randall (Stu) of Otsego, Alan L. Nystrom of Remer, Tyler Opatz of Sartell, Jacob Opatz (Angie) of St. Cloud, Elijah Nystrom of Remer; and many cousins, relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his great grandparents and uncle, Randy Peterson.
