Marlene Lucille Holthaus (Raden), Age 86

Clearwater, MN

January 19, 1936 – March 15, 2022

Marlene died of a stroke March 15, 2022. She was surrounded by her loving family at the St. Cloud Hospital. She was born January 19, 1936, in St. Cloud Minnesota, the daughter of Lawrence and Marie (Osmanski) Raden. 

Marlene graduated from Cathedral High School in 1954. Shortly after school she met Richard Holthaus and they were married in 1956. They celebrated 66 years of marriage on January 7, 2022. Marlene worked at Travel Plaza, Center Drug and then Coborn’s Pharmacy in Clearwater until she retired in 2008. 

Marlene was a gentle soul who was loved by everyone who knew her. She was an active member at the St. Luke’s Church in Clearwater. Her faith and love of Jesus was a powerful driving force in the way she lived her life. Marlene loved, bowling, reading, animals, the Vikings, and the Twins. 

 In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her sisters, Shirley Loehr and Norma Mayer, then her brothers Lawrence Jr, Gerald, Marvin, and Kenny. She is survived by her husband Richard and six children, Glenda (Jerry) Ruegemer, Russell Holthaus, Scott Holthaus, Ricky Holthaus, Rhonda Holder, Pamela (Paul) Klemz, 17 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.    

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1pm, Sunday April 24th at the St. Augusta Legion.  A Mass will be held at 11 am, on Tuesday April 26th at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, with one hour visitation prior.
