Lewis E. Baughman, 75, of Big Lake, MN, passed away peacefully at home on Christmas Eve after a battle with lung cancer. He donated his body for research to the University of Minnesota. Burial will take place at Fort Ripley, Little Falls, at a later date.
Lewis was preceded in death by his mother, Jean Baughman; father, Lewis Baughman; second wife, Juanita Baughman; and sisters, Marcia Berger and Nan Janwich. He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Sharlene Baughman; first wife, Darlene Baughman; sister, Barbara Strong; brother-in-law, Chuck Berger; son, Jeffery (Jenny) Baughman; daughters, Julie (Jeffery) Peiper and Jody Huston; step-children, Denise (Robert) Barker, Kent Westphal, Curt Westphal and Gina Hawkins; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Lewis was a long-time employee of Federal Hoffman and recently of Vision bus company of Big Lake. He spent more than 20 years serving his country in the Navy, Army Reserve and the National Guard. He enjoyed fishing, reading and spending time with his grandchildren.
