Kendall Keith Provencher, 83 Big Lake, MN May 25, 1940 - November 28, 2023

Kendall Keith Provencher, age 83 of Big Lake, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at home with his wife by his side. He was born May 25, 1940 in Nashwauk, MN, the son of Hector and Ellen Provencher.

“Punk” was born and raised in Nashwauk and attended Nashwauk High School. He enlisted into the Army, being stationed overseas. He was a very proud Army Veteran.

Kendall became well known as a licensed electrical contractor in the Big Lake and Monticello area, owning and operating Ken’s Electric.

On December 22, 1978, Ken and Gail were united in marriage, celebrating 45 years together.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, “losing” at cribbage, reading, and crossword puzzles. Ken and his family enjoyed traveling. He would drive across country, taking the scenic views. He was one state shy of visiting all 50 states!

Ken’s big personality and determination will be missed. He, and everyone around him, was extremely proud of his dedication to 48 years of sobriety. He was the best jokester and loved to nicely tease his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Hector and Ellen Provencher; step-son, Bill Lundgren; son-in-law, Dave Wicklund; brothers, Roger Winfield, Theodore Clifton; sisters, Carol Stutebeck, Inez Straw; and brother-in-law, Larry Lakso.

Punk is survived by his loving wife, Gail Provencher; children, Leona Kamp (Kent Kringlund), Theodore Provencher (Patricia), Kathleen Wicklund, Cindy Maikkula (Neal), Karyn Mansell; sisters, Sharon Lakso, Audrey Lake (Bill); brother, Jack Provencher (Karen); ex-wife, Elsie Provencher; lots of very loved grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, family and numerous friends.
