Jayci Grace Wilson

A celebration of Jayci’s life was held Wednesday, May 1 at Becker Baptist Church. Jayci took her first steps into the arms of Jesus on Friday, May 6. Her dad, Kevin and her papas, Tim and Gary, led her service. Burial was at the Becker Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Becker.

Jayci was born on November 24, 2008, in Monticello, to Kevin and Annie (Cox) Wilson. She was raised in Becker and loved life! Though she had been diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy, a diagnosis is not a sentence to a life less lived or less enjoyed. Strength doesn't come from physical capacity. Strength is the size of one’s heart... and Jayci was the strongest little girl you could ever know. Jayci could light up a room with her sweet and sassy personality. She was a talker, loved to laugh and tease, and be with her family and friends. She pushed the limits with her wheel chair, and recently asked her dad to cover the lights of the controller and turn off the sound it made so she could play night games with the rest of the kids. She loved so many things! Some favorites were rides on the golf cart and papa’s motorcycle, swimming, singing “Everything is Awesome,” going on trips, and sleepovers with her cousins. Everyone knew her as “Princess Jayci.”

Jayci is survived by parents, Kevin and Annie and brothers, Ethan and Kaden, of Becker; grandparents, Gary and Jill Cox of Becker, Rev. Tim and Sue Wilson of Park Rapids; aunts and uncles, Eli and Jaime Cox of North Carolina, Ben and Sonya Cox of Becker, Amy and Josh McDonald of Clear Lake, Micah Cox of Becker, Matt and Kristi Tart of Ramsey; many cousins. She was welcomed to heaven by many great grandparents. She will be missed by an entire community of friends, classmates, teachers, and helpers who were touched by her life.
