James Michael Rietman, age 70 of Becker, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday March 18. Graveside services will be held at Snake River Cemetery on Sat. March 25 at 2 pm. Funeral arrangements are with the Peterson-Grimsmo Chapel of Monticello.

 

Jim was born on March 11, 1947 in Monticello to Phil and Vera (Frovarp) Rietman. He attended and graduated from Becker High School in 1966. He then served two years in the US Army during the Vietnam War.  He was united to his high school sweetheart Barbara Nelson in 1969. Jim was employed at Federal Cartridge for 28 years. He loved the outdoors, fishing and hunting. He enjoyed classic country music, and loved many trips to Nashville and Branson. He was very loved and will be missed by his family and friends.

 

Jim is survived by his wife, Barbara;  daughter Carrie Ann Rietman Gilbert (Michael Tuff); three granddaughters Samantha Gilbert Pramann (Mitchell Pramann), Erica Gilbert, Christy Mins (Michael Mins);  three great grandchildren Alison Pramann, Clayton Hurd and Michaela Mins. He was very proud of his family and loved those babies.
