Clarence W. Ritten

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Sat.,  Nov. 12 at St. Marcus Catholic Church in Clear Lake for Clarence W. Ritten, age 90, who passed away Wednesday at Monticello Care Center in Monticello.
 
Rev. Virgil Helmin will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the church in Clear Lake. Arrangements have been entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Clear Lake.
 
Clarence was born May 28, 1926 in Millerville, MN to William & Rose Mary (Zwack) Ritten. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during WW II. Clarence married Lorraine Benson on June 24, 1953 in Brandon. He was a steel worker for U.S. Steel in Virginia, MN for 32 years. Clarence was a member of St. Marcus Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and Clear Lake American Legion Post #354. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping with family and a good game of cards. Clarence was humble, caring, devoted, and a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great Papa.
 
Clarence is survived by his wife of 63 years, Lorraine of Becker; daughters, Denise (Terry) Cook of Monticello, Debbie (Randy) Salo of Monticello and Gail Evans of Becker; sisters, Lavern Bitzan and Darlene (Marvin) Wagner; brother-in-law, Joe Thoennes; grandchildren, Matthew (Jessica) Salo, Katrina (John) Bartz, Christopher (Taryn) Evans, Katlyn Evans, Kellie Evans, Kayla (Bryce) Lemke and Emily Cook; and great grandchildren, Tyson Bartz and Bethanne Schwarzkopf; and many nieces and nephews. Clarence was preceded in death by his parents; children, Daniel, Dennis and Glen; great grandson, August Brutger; siblings, Arnold Ritten and Lorraine Thoennes; brother-in-law, Richard Bitzan and sister-in-law, Doris Ritten.
