A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, September 19, 2014 at St. Marcus Catholic Church in Clear Lake for Brad A. Braun, age 61 of Clear Lake who died Monday, September 15, 2014 at home from injuries sustained in a farm accident. Reverend Virgil Helmin officiated.

 

Interment took place at the parish cemetery in Clear Lake.

 

Brad was born August 11, 1953 in Emmetsburg, Iowa to Donald and Ramona (Juenemann) Braun. He was a 1971 graduate of St. Cloud Cathedral High School. Brad was a United States Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War. He married Paula J. Barber on August 9, 1975 at St. Marcus Catholic Church. Brad was employed by the Minnesota Correctional Facility, St. Cloud for 25 years retiring as a Sergeant on August 8, 2008. He owned and operated his own farrier business since 1987. He was a member of St. Marcus Parish and a life member of the St. Cloud East Side Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #4847 and the Clear Lake American Legion #354. 

 

Brad is survived by his wife, Paula; parents, Don and Mona Braun of Clear Lake; children, MaLinda Braun of Becker, Keith (Jackie) Braun of Clear Lake, and Jennifer (Todd) Engeldinger of Becker;  seven grandchildren, Scott, Kolbe, Lakken, KyLeigh, Brayden, Levi and CharLeigh; and sister, Wanda (Bernie) Selix of Elk River.
