Arlene Blad has spent the past 17 years delivering the mail for the United States Post Office (Becker). Arlene worked part-time for the first nine years and fulltime the past eight years.
This is the first Christmas season in 17 years she will not be delivering packages. Arlene is enjoying her recent retirement, but misses the people she delivered mail to for all those years and looks forward to seeing her friends around town. Arlene and her husband Jerry live north of Becker. Arlene is enjoying spending more time with her family, including her son Dan and his children who live next door.
Becker Post Master Michelle Mattsen shared these holiday tips to ensure your packages arrive at their destination before Christmas.To ensure delivery in the contiguous US before Christmas, mail items by Dec. 19 (Further destinations by Dec. 15)
Ensure you have the correct and current address on your mail piece to avoid delays. Include your return address on your mail piece. Secure your package with ample packing material inside and tape outside to eliminate breakage or loss of contents. Lastly, use pen when addressing mail to avoid potential smearing that can occur with markers.
