Young Dancers Gearing Up For Fall Season

The Becker Dazzler Dance team’s season is nearing so they kicked off the season with the Fall 2014 Pep Squad Dazzler Dance Camp for up-and-coming wannabes.

The camp ran Mon., Sept. 22 through Thurs., Sept. 25 after school at the Intermediate School.

In just four short practices the group learned an entire dance routine.

“This is our largest camp yet with 45 participants,” said Coach Laura Anderson. “We have two pre-schoolers, 26 kids from the Primary School and 17 campers from the Intermediate School.”

Anderson knows she couldn’t pull off the camp with help from her coaches.

“We have learned to get creative with our teaching practices and our schedule to accommodate the great turn-out for our camp,” said Coach Julie Baloun. “Our captains and team members have done a great job keeping the participants focused and on task in learning the routine.”

“The campers are so terrific to work with,” said new JV Coach Nadia Fischer-Danzeisen. “This has been a great experience for me as the new JV coach for the Becker Dazzlers.”
The Junior Dazzlers performed to Taylor Swift's Shake it Off during halftime of the Becker vs. Albany Homecoming football game Friday night.

The next dance camp will be in February.
