Election of officers, supervisor assignments and yearly Township designations were on the agenda of the recent Haven Township meeting.
Supervisor Jeff Schlingmann was elected chairperson for 2016, and Supervisor Mark Knowles was elected vice chairperson.
Supervisor Committee Assignments were approved as follows: Sherburne County Township Association - Mike Pesch and Jeff Schlingmann, Sherburne County Soil and Water - Mark Knowles, St. Cloud Airport Advisory Board - Kathi-Sims-Kosloski and Mike Pesch, Sauk Rapids Fire Meetings - Kathi Sims-Kosloski and Randy Linn, Sherburne Planning Commission - Jeff Schlingmann and Mike Pesch, Haven Township Road & Bridge - Mark Knowles, Haven Township Zoning Board of Adjustment, Planning Commission and Animal Control Warden - all board of supervisors.

Clerk Update
Haven Township Clean-Up Day was set for May 14.
The Citizen-Tribune was designated the official publication paper for legals along with three posting locations: Haven Township Hall, County Road 3/65th Ave, and County Road 8/42nd Street.
Haven Township regular meeting dates were approved as the third Monday of the month at 7 p.m., with the exception of Jan. and Feb. meetings, which will be held on the fourth Monday due to holidays.
Compensation rates were set at $80 per meeting and $30 per hour for supervisors, clerk/treasurer, and deputy clerk, $30 per hour for election judges, $25 per hour for hall maintenance employees and temporary employees, and mileage per IRS standards.
Proposed Fire Contract
The board reviewed the Sauk Rapids proposed fire contract. Sims-Kosloski and Linn will attend the Sauk Rapids fire meeting Feb. 11 to discuss consideration of dry hydrants for the lakes and rivers in Haven Township.
Other Business
Zniewski told the board the county decided on the voting equipment that will be used for the upcoming elections, the cost of the machine for Haven Township is $7,283. The board decided to make payments, as there is no discount for paying in full.
Clear Lake Township created a resolution for an agreement for the division of maintenance responsibilities for a road that intersects the Clear Lake/Haven Township line. The board decided to have Legal Council David Meyers rewrite the agreement with corrections the board requested.
The board will review the township road project list and decide which roads need upcoming attention.
The Haven Township Board of Appeal and Equalization will be held April 14 at 1 p.m. at the Haven Township Hall.
The Sherburne County Sheriff reported 64 incidents for the month of December.
