Wright County Parks will host several winter programs throughout the month of February at Robert Ney Regional Park, located just north of Maple Lake off CSAH 8. Each program will provide a unique experience for every participant.
Sat., Feb. 6 the parks department will start things off with Woodworking for Wildlife. This is a great family program. Participants will build their own birdfeeder and learn how to install and maintain it.
Sat., Feb. 13 the parks department will light the Pond Loop Trail at Ney Park for a Sweetheart Snowshoe and Book hike. There is no charge for this event unless you wish to rent a pair of snowshoes from the Nature Center for $5. There will be sweet treats and warm drinks for you and your sweetheart to enjoy as you take a stroll in the woods.
For a little more adventure you can join Naturalist David Grack for Moonlit Snowshoe Adventure at Ney Park Fri., Feb. 19. You will get to explore parts of Ney Park that are only accessible during the winter with snowshoes. This program is $5 per person and you can either bring your own snowshoes or reserve a pair at the Nature Center.
