Wide Variety At Bhs History Day

Students chose from a wide variety of sources to create their presentations for the annual History Day program at Becker High School Wednesday.

Among the static displays were presentations on atomic scientist Leo Szilard, who worked on the Manhattan Project in WW II but opposed actually dropping the bomb, a storyboard of the life and times of underworld kingpin Al Capone and his effect on organized crime in America, Col. Samuel Colt and the development of the revolver and Walt Disney and the setbacks he overcame to develop Disneyland®.

Students also created on-line presentations, as well as live performance pieces, according to BHS media Specialist Nancy Lorentz.

Once judging is complete, winning entries will move on to regional competition in St. Cloud, and possible on to the state-level event after that.
