“What Are You Doing With All This Snow?” Photo Contest

February is now officially the fourth snowiest month on record in Minnesota history, with the Twin Cities metro area’s total reaching 39.0 inches.  Before the month was even over it had broken the record for Minnesota’s snowiest February.

Area residents don’t have to be told we have a lot of snow, they just need to look out their windows. As Minnesotans, we’re used to the snow, but even the some of the most hardcore lovers of winter have started to say enough is enough.

Now the Citizen-Tribune would like to know, “What are you doing with all this snow?”

We’re asking people to send us photographs of themselves and all their snow for our first-ever photo contest. Are you an optimist who’s enjoying our winter wonderland? Send us photos of you and your family skiing, sledding, snowmobiling, skating, building snow people or whatever else you’re doing to take advantage of this year’s abundance.

Are you a pessimist who can’t wait for spring to come or someone who just takes it in stride? Send us photos of you shoveling and snowblowing bundled up in your winter gear. Show us the path you have carved out to your garage, the snowdrift that reaches the eaves of your house or your dog struggling to make it out to the sidewalk.

Whatever you’re doing with all this snow, we want to know!

Please send your digital photos to citizennewspaper@midconetwork.com with the subject line “Winter Photo Contest” or drop off a copy of your photo at the Citizen-Tribune’s Becker office at 14054 Bank St. Please include the names of everyone in the photograph, where it was taken, your name and contact information.

The winner of the contest will receive bragging rights and a gift certificate to a local business.

Deadline for photo submissions is March 15; a winner will be selected by Citizen-Tribune staff on March 20.

Please note that all photos submitted will become the property of the Citizen-Tribune, and may be featured on its website, social media sites and in the newspaper.
