Many families are taking the warm weather opportunity to get out of the house and visit local tree farms and nurseries.

Becker and Clear Lake have a plethora of Christmas Tree farms and nurseries to choose from as well as a few in Big Lake, Monticello and Elk River.

Many of the nurseries have cut-your-own Christmas trees as well as pre-tag options. Some have indoor gift shops and some have petting zoos, foods and rides!

The Becker and Clear Lake tree farms are Lee Peterson Trees, B & J Evergreen, Jan’s Trees, Weis Trees and Petersen Trees. Elsewhere there is Rum River Tree Farm in Oak Grove, Buffalo Hills Tree Farm in Buffalo, M & L Tree Nursery in Monticello, Golden Nursery & Tree Farm in Rice and Goldenman Christmas Trees in Zimmerman.

Recently, the Miller family who live just outside of Big Lake, visited the Rum River Tree Farm and Nursery to garner their Christmas tree and enjoy the fun activities at the farm. The family enjoyed holding a rough baby alligator and soft bunny rabbits, participated in some hayrides and pony rides and had a visit with Santa Claus.
