We Care Club Donates Blankets

The Becker High School WeCare Club completed "Project Tie Blanket" this week by presenting 38 fleece tie blankets to Amy Drehmel, founder and president of the Compassion Connection, which is a local organization that provides help and support to children in foster care and low income families.

The blankets will be part of Christmas packages put together for the children.

The WeCare Club is an organization which provides opportunities for students to spread kindness in the school and the community.  The club meets monthly during lunch time, so that students who may not be able to come early or stay after school can participate.

Past activities for the club have included notes of kindness on all student lockers, flowers for teachers, treats for custodians, Christmas cards for veterans, secret acts of kindness and organizing the Mental Health Month walk and activities each May.

The members of the WeCare Club would like to thank the Clear Lake Lions and the BHS Site-Base Team for providing the funding for materials.
