Several Veteran’s Day events are scheduled for the area next Friday and throughout the weekend. Here are just a few:
The Becker High and Middle Schools will be hosting a Veteran’s Day program Friday morning at 8:30 a.m. and will feature Veterans being greeted and shown to a special seating area for the program which will include Becker’s school choirs performing a musical tribute to the Armed Forces.
The Becker Community Center is offering specials Saturday for anyone who has served the United States in the military. They have free admission Saturday for Vets, coffe and soda for 11¢ and a membership special of an $11 admin fee and 11% discount on annual paid-in-full memberships purchased that day.
The BASC will be having a Veteran’s Day program Thursday at 12:15 p.m. at city hall. Lloyd Petersen, Emeritus Professor of History at SW State University, Marshall will be the presentor. A lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. and Veterans are encouraged to bring any artifacts they wish to share.
