Upcoming Becker Ptsa Reading Programs

The Becker PTSA Read-a-Thon kick-off took place on Wed., Feb. 4 and the program continues through Thurs., Feb. 26, according to PTSA President Ann Olson. Prizes will be awarded for top student readers, and pledge and tally forms will be coming home with students soon, Olson said.
 
Read-A-Thon Details
The goal of the Read-A-Thon is to encourage kids to read more and have fun while raising money for programs and projects related to literacy. The Read-A-Thon is Feb. 4 through Feb. 26.  February also happens to be “I Love to Read Month,” Olson said.  Pledges can be on a per-minute basis or as a flat donation. Checks should be payable to the Becker PTSA, and all donations are tax deductible, Olson said.
 
Read - all minutes read count towards the Read-A-Thon goals; Track -Tally all minutes on attached sheet or via iPad; Collect - Pledge sheets are attached.  Deadline: March 2, 2015.
 
 Win - The top readers and the top fundraisers in each school will win a variety of prizes including gift cards, movie tickets, value meals, and a bike for primary, intermediate and middle schools, and many other items. (You are not required to earn pledges in order to qualify for prizes.)
 
Go Read A Book (GRAB) will take place at the Becker Primary School Mar. 3 and 4,  and at the Becker Intermediate School Mar. 5 and 6.  These events are now looking for volunteers, contact Sue at 320.250.4685, or e-mail areolson@sherbtel.net.
