Annual township elections and meetings are scheduled for Tuesday, (March 13) in Clear Lake, Haven, Becker, Palmer, Clearwater, Lynden and Santiago.
Becker Township
Becker’s annual township election and meeting will be held at Becker Twp. Hall, 12165 Hancock St., Tuesday, for the purpose of electing three (3) supervisors for the term of three years.
Seat #1 is a special election to fill a vacancy that expires March 10, 2020. The seat is currently held by Gary Gilbert.
Seat #4 is currently held by Joe Danielson and he is running unopposed.
Seat #5 is currently held by Brian Kolbinger and he is running unopposed.
Election hours will be 10 a.m.. to 8 p.m. Tuesday with the township office opening 10-noon for absentee voting. The annual meeting will begin at 8:01 p.m. after the polls close to do any other business.
In the event of inclement weather, the annual election and meeting will be held the following Tuesday, March 20.
Palmer Township
Palmer’s annual meeting and election will be held, Tuesday at Palmer Township Hall, 4180 105th Avenue in Clear Lake. The election poll hours will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. in which the voters will elect one (1) supervisor to fill the office for a three year term. Stephen Demeules currently holds the seat and is running unopposed.
The annual meeting will start at 8:05 p.m. The board of canvass will immediately follow the annual meeting.
In case of inclement weather, the meeting and election may be postponed until the third Tuesday of March.
Santiago Township
Santiago’s annual meeting and election will be held, Tuesday at Santiago Town Hall located at 16943 20th St. in Santiago. Election hours will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. in which the voters will elect one supervisor (Jeff Pappenfus) to fill the office for a three-year term and one clerk (Kathy Woolard) for a two-year term. Both candidates are running unopposed.
The annual meeting will start at 8:01 p.m. The board of canvass will immediately follow the adjournment of the annual meeting.
In case of inclement weather, the meeting and election may be postponed until the third Tuesday of March.
Haven Township
Haven’s annual meeting will be held Tuesday at Haven Township Hall, 4230 45th Ave. SE in St. Cloud.
As Haven Twp.’s elections are held in November, the annual meeting will begin at 7 p.m. The agenda will include the clerk/treasurer’s report, road and bridge report, fire report, setting budget levy for 2019 and business from the floor.
In the event of inclement weather, the meeting will be postponed until Tues., March 21 at the same time.
Lynden Township
Lynden’s annual meeting and election will be held Tuesday at Lynden Township Hall, 21367 Co. Rd. 44, Clearwater.
Polling hours are from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Incumbent Supervisor Jerry Finch is running for re-election; Dennis Niemi is running against him. Incumbent Clerk Jenny Schmidt is running unopposed.
The annual meeting will begin at 8 p.m. Along with voting on the proposed operating levy, the board will be looking for input on the possible consolidation of trash haulers, which would reduce heavy vehicle traffic on township roads and ultimately lead to reduced road maintenance costs, and funding considerations for the proposed Beaver Island Trail extension.

Clear Lake Township
Clear Lake’s annual meeting will be held Tuesday at the Clear Lake Township Hall, 8580 Main Ave. in Clear Lake. Election hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at which time voters will elect one supervisor for a three-year term. Bud Stimmler is running unopposed.
The annual meeting will begin at 8:05 p.m. and will include the treasurer’s report, road report, fire report, 2019 levy request and business from the floor.
The board will conduct the board of canvass meeting immediately following the annual meeting.
Clearwater Township
Clearwater’s annual meeting will be held Tuesday at Clearwater Township Hall, 5015 State Hwy. 24, in Clearwater.
The annual meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. The budget for general town revenue, road and bridge and fire protection will be discussed and voted on at the annual meeting.
In the event of inclement weather, the meeting will be postponed until Tues., March 20 at the same time.
