The Becker Twp. Board met Monday night to discuss Oakwood Church’s CUP, Heritage Trails 5th Addition, mapping updates, engineering standard updates, design for 185th Phase III and piggybacking road projects with county.
Oakwood Church
Another public hearing was held for a CUP for Oakwood Community Church to operate in the “Foley Building” at 17060 142nd Street SE.
A number of neighbors attended to ask questions of staff regarding the operation, traffic, etc. The planning commission took traffic concerns along 142nd Street under advisement, and recommended in the resolution that dust control measures be implemented along the access drive.
Any expansion of the operation or the building, or additional services like day care would require an amended CUP. The planning commission voted unanimously to recommend approval of the CUP to the joint planning board.
Heritage Trails 5th Addition
The planning commission held a public hearing Dec. 11 to consider an application by Beverly Aubol to subdivide Heritage Trails 5th Addition along 188th Street NW. Only a portion of one lot would be within Becker Township.
It was noted if any construction, grading, etc. is on the Becker Twp. side of the line, approval by the township is necessary. Also, if the development continues to the west, the roadways must meet Becker Twp. standards. The planning commission unanimously recommended approval of the preliminary and final plats.
Mapping Updates Completed
Engineer Wes Davis handed out documents identifying each township road’s history of projects and what needs each road requires moving forward.
Davis also submitted an index with definitions of roadways, road, driveway, drainage, utility and development/platting standards. It also identified standard plates and had a section on references.
The board also discussed the 185th, Phase III project and piggybacking projects with the county to save money.
