Brigita Fiske has earned the Graduate Oral Presentation Award through the 2021 Huskies Showcase at St. Cloud State University.
Huskies Showcase celebrates university and community engagement, research, creative works and scholarship across all disciplines at St. Cloud State. Students presented for the showcase virtually through Zoom throughout the day April 20, followed by an in-person closing celebration for award finalists.
Fiske presented on her research “Yerba Mate: A potential supplement to delay onset of Type 1 Diabetes in mouse models?” Biology Professor Dr. Marina Cetkovic-Cvrlje served as her faculty mentor.
She is from Becker, Minnesota, and is receiving a graduate degree in Biological Sciences.
Additional winners were honored for their oral and poster presentations. The Our Husky Compact Reflection Award recognizes the presentation that best represents this year’s Our Husky Compact dimension of focus. This year’s dimension is Seek and Apply Knowledge. Our Husky Compact is St. Cloud State’s bond with our students to prepare them for intellectual, professional and personal fulfillment with the skills to discover and apply new solutions to challenges and opportunities.
In all more than 200 student projects were presented from disciplines and programs across St. Cloud State University.
