Stearns History Museum Takes Over Cold Spring Brewhouse

Join the staff of the Stearns History Museum as they take over the taproom of the Third Street Brewhouse from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday, August 9 in Cold Spring. The family-friendly community event offers fun, food, craft beers, and music.

View Cold Spring Brewery artifacts, try your hand at trivia, or dance the night away to the music of the Braidee’s, an Americana band that plays your favorites from the 1960s and ‘70s. The Third Street Brewhouse offers these takeovers each Friday as a way to give back to the community, donating all its proceeds to nonprofits. These monies will help the Museum fund exhibits, programs, and services for our Stearns County community and its visitors.

The rich history of Cold Spring Brewing Company dates back to 1874 when German immigrant and brewmeister Michael Sargl made “Bright Beer” in an outdoor kettle at the current site. It is one of two brewing companies in the state to operate continuously for more than 100 years. The brewery recognizes the importance of that history in its community and the work of the Stearns History Museum. We hope you can join the staff of the Museum as we celebrate community, camaraderie, and history.

If you have any questions regarding the takeover or would like additional information, please feel free to contact Collections Curator Eric Cheever at 320-253-8424 or echeever@stearns-museum.org. The brewery is located at 219 Red River Ave. N in Cold Spring.
