St. Marcus Parish in Clear Lake held their Harvest Festival Sunday, featuring a pancake breakfast, raffle and silent auction. The annual event is both a celebration for parishioners and a fundraiser for the church.
The festival began with a breakfast of homemade pancakes and sausage served from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the parish center. The raffle featured $5,000 in prizes, including the grand prize of $1,000, which were all donated by parishioners and local businesses.
There were around 130 items up for bid at the silent auction, which included an intarsia cardinal handmade by Father Virgil. Intarsia is a form of wood mosaic using inlaid patterns.
The event also included a meat raffle, with 480 pounds of ground beef and 30 chickens donated by three parish families.
The money raised from the festival will go to the parish general fund.
