As of Tuesday — just three days in — the coveted Big Lake Spud Fest Medallion has been located after just three clues.
Congratulations to Catherine Norman and her children, Rosalie and Forest who found it hidden in the “V” of the tree in front of the high school.
The prize for finding the medallion was $50 without a Spud Fest button and $100 if one has a button.
The clues were as follows:
1). Once again, it’s Spud Fest time. Here’s some clues That mostly rhyme. Sometimes busy, sometimes not It’s easy to get to the proper spot. Get out there and search to and fro. On you mark, get set and go;
2). You can bike there or walk or drive. Look high and low to keep the search alive. The medallion’s well hidden of this there’s no doubt. You can find it easily if you take the right route. To win the prize and make your day, All you need to do is take the right way;
3). Where is it, you ask? Well, that is the key. So far it is known only by me. We’ve all been there though perhaps not this one. For some it is boring, for some it is fun. One more clue, I’ll give you some aid. It’s very warm out, Try looking in shade.
The Spud Fest Medallion — measuring 6.25 inches in diameter — is always hidden above ground. No digging is required to find it. This year, 2025, the organizers were unable to secure a sponsor for the medallion hunt but hope to pursue sponsorship from a business or organization in 2026.
