Six miles northeast of Becker, nestled in the woods near the Snake River is a church rich in history. Snake River Church has been a landmark in our community for 100+ years.    The church began with immigrant Scandinavian families settling in Sherburne County during the early 1900's and was originally a mission church.  Many of its members were people who had experienced the tyranny of the hierarchical church in their home countries.
The core beliefs have not changed in the 100+ years. They believe in the importance of new birth in Jesus Christ through the confession of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Other important core beliefs are the centrality of scripture and the Bible as the only true, sufficient, infallible doctrine and standard for a Christian's faith, teaching, life conduct and activity.
