Slingshot crash send 2 Clear Lakers to hopsital

The Minnesota State Patrol reported that two people — both from Clear Lake — were injured in a two-vehicle accident at about 11:30 a.m. on Saturday on Hwy. 10.

A 1999 Toyota Camry, driven by 21-year-old Abigail Carolyn Kohout of Elk River, was Westbound on Hwy. 10, when a Slingshot, driven by 55-year-old Joseph Mark Schlangen of Clear Lake, was traveling Eastbound on Hwy 10 where the vehicles collided.

Shlangen’s, 52-year-old passenger was Amy Shlangen, also of Clear Lake, and both occupants were taken to Mercy Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Camry was not hurt.

Elk River Police and Fire, and the Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
