The Haven Twp. Board of Supervisors discussed the latest updates on the Sherwood Shores project Monday.
Supervisor Mark Knowles informed the board their engineer had directed him to speak with Andrew Witter, Sherburne Co. public works director, who had no problems with the engineering on the project, although he did request that Sherburne Co. Soil and Water also look at it.
Because the township is reclaiming the ditches instead of creating new ones, the ditch work will be classified as maintenance.
Knowles indicated he was waiting for Soil and Water to get back to him. Supervisor Jeff Schlingmann recommended he give them until the end of the week to weigh in, but in the meantime, get the bid packets out so they can get moving on the project.
A special meeting will be called to open and let the bids unless they come in close to the July meeting, in which case the board will wait until that time.
Mississippi Corridor
Schlingmann informed the board he and Twp. Attorney David Meyers had met with the City of St. Cloud concerning the Mississippi bridge corridor.
In 2005 a study was done concerning a potential river crossing which the board was against. The city now wants to revisit that study, as with the new Tech HS on 33rd the city is looking to establishing a future corridor instead.
Meyers recommended that if a committee is formed, one of the township supervisors should be on it.
Other Business
Supervisor Mike Pesch asked where the board was at concerning resident Bruce Hentges’ request for dust control on 63rd Street S. Knowles indicated he will be getting a bid on the project and will speak with Hentges.
Supervisor Kathi Kosloski informed the board the weed and road tour had been postponed until July 11 due to the cold and wet spring, and told them bids were open and let for surfacing at the St. Cloud Regional Airport so work there will be picking up.
The solar arrays on 37th and Co. Rd. 8 both received their permits so they should be starting up this summer.
The sheriff reported 77 calls for service for May, including six traffic, six medicals, four harassment, two thefts, one domestic, one assault and one fatality (car/train).
The next Haven Twp. meeting will be July 15 at 7 p.m.
