Sherco’s annual archery hunt that usually takes place mid-September, may or may not take place this year, that according to Patti Nystuen, spokesperson for Xcel Energy.

 

The hunt, which typically occurs  Mid-September through the end of the year, takes place on portions of the buffer property adjacent to the Sherco Plant in Becker. The idea is to control the deer population in the area and allows the public — as well as Sherco employees — the opportunity to take game.

 

Nystuen said the determinating factor on whether or not to hold the bow hunt this season comes down to Plant Director Ron Brevig, who at the time of this writing, is undecided.
