Last Saturday, the Sherburne History Center held their 21st annual fundraising event “Autumn Lights Round Up.” The theme this year was “cowboy” and event-goers were welcomed to dress up in country wear as well as compete in a costume contest. Prizes given to the top two costumes to which the winners were Bruce Moey and Linda Lewis.
The Autumn Lights Round up kicked off at 5:30 p.m. with registration and a social hour including music from The Just Rite Country Band, who provided wonderful and entertaining county music. Guests were welcomed to purchase raffle tickets and drinks at the open bar.
There were many amazing prizes raffled off including a wheel barrow filled with beer, beautiful oil paintings, quilts, catering for six from Carousell Works as well as many other fantastic items.
At 6:30 p.m., Sherburne County Historical Society Executive Director Mike Brubaker welcomed attendees and thanked them for coming to the Autumn Lights Round Up and supporting the Sherburne County Historical Society.
Dinner was served at 7 p.m. and included a chuck wagon dinner provided by a Catered Event, and a warm apple crisp dessert. After folks were finished with their meal and desert, the raffle began. Folks who won prizes left with smiles, even the patrons how didn’t win left with a smile, knowing they helped a worthy cause.
The event netted $3,000.
