The board of commissioners hired Andrew Witter for a one-year term during last week’s meeting.

 

Witter was an engineer with the Anoka County Highway Dept. for the past 16-plus years. He was their assistant engineer for the past 8.5 years.

 

Prior to that he worked as a civil engineer for Houston Engineering and a field engineer for OSM & Associates.

 

Former Sherburne County Public Works Director John Menter retired in early May. County Engineer Rhona Lewis left at the same time.

 

Witter will take over both positions with the county.
