A fun for all ages program titled “A Day at the Museum” will be held Sat., April 12 at the Sherburne History Center in Becker.
A highlight of the event is a showing of “Night at the Museum”, a comedy in which a museum night watchman is confronted by a host of historical characters who come to life after the last visitors leave and the doors are locked. The cast includes movie and television comedy stars from the 1950’s through the modern era, including star Ben Stiller, his mom and well-known Broadway actress Anne Meara, Carla Gugino, Robin Williams, Dick Van Dyke, Mickey Rooney, Ricky Gervais and Owen Wilson.
William’s performance as Teddy Roosevelt in his “Rough Riders” era in the Spanish-American War has to be seen to be believed, and Van Dyke and Rooney are hilarious as two crooked night watchmen who plan to enhance their retirement with a theft from the museum.
The program also includes “backstage” tours of the facility and the exhibits currently on display in the SHC museum. While touring the normally closed to the public areas, the staff does request that parents remain with their children throughout the tour process.
