Several Programs Scheduled For Veteran’s Day

Veteran’s Day is Friday and everyone is encouraged to get out and show their support for this country’s veterans at local events.

Becker
In Becker, Becker High School and the Community Center will be holding a Veteran’s Day Resource Fair and Luncheon Nov. 11.

To commemorate Veterans Day this year, volunteers and staff of Pain Free Patriots will do what they do best – thank our military veterans for their service by providing them with information on how they can access advanced pain relief technology and protocols at no cost through Pain Free Patriots.  The nonprofit organization will be answering questions and will have one of its mobile units on hand during the luncheon BCC event from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

“We estimate that 44 percent of the nearly 370,000 veterans living in Minnesota suffer with chronic pain, and many of them are not getting the help they need,” said Doug Huseby, founder of non-profit Pain Free Patriots and owner of Becker Furniture World.

Huseby hopes the charity’s presence at the event will give local veterans hope for their futures.

“These brave men and women risk their lives for us – they deserve to enjoy fulfilling lives here at home that don’t include chronic pain. That’s where Pain Free Patriots comes in – we have the tools to help reduce or eliminate their pain,” he said.

Prior to the resource fair and luncheon, a veterans program will be held at Becker High School at 10:30 a.m.

Founded in 2010, Pain Free Patriots is a nonprofit organization dedicated to delivering no-cost pain relief technology to United States Veterans who are struggling with chronic pain. Their mission is to help America’s heroes live pain-free lives.

Also on that day, the Becker Intermediate School will have a special Veteran’s Day program in which Transportation Director Tom Risley — a high-ranking NCO — will be the featured speaker. A musical performance is also expected.

At 9:15, the same program will be held at the Becker Primary School where the colors will be presented by the Sherburne County Sheriff’s Color Guard.

All events are sponsored by the Becker American Legion, the Becker Beyond the Yellow Ribbon, Bruce Price with the Sherburne County Veteran’s Services and the Becker Ultimate Wellness Center.

Clear Lake
In Clear Lake, a kids program will be held at Clearview Elementary at 8 a.m., Thurs., Nov. 10 that will feature the acknowledgment of all veterans, music and guest speakers. The event is hosted by the Clear Lake, St. Augusta and Clearwater American Legions.

Refreshments will be served to all veterans in the cafe.

A warm welcome  and salute is expected from Principal Sheri Rutar and the students as well as the presentation of the colors.

All events are free to veterans and families are encouraged to attend as well.
