Schwarzkopf Apprehended In Glendorado Last Week

Jeremiah Schwarzkopf was arrested last Thursday (Jan. 4) in Benton County. Sherburne County investigators learned that he was in the Glendorado area and spotted him in a vehicle. Schwarzkopf ran when deputies tried to arrest him. He was caught after a foot chase through wooded and swampy land.

Schwarzkopf, 40, had been on the loose since October when deputies were involved in a pursuit of a vehicle that had been reported stolen out of St. Cloud.

During that chase, a deputy in an unmarked squad encountered the vehicle in the City of Clear Lake at approximately 11:20 a.m. and began to follow it. The vehicle eventually turned in to a driveway of a residence in the 8800 block of 71st St. in Clear Lake Twp.

Others deputies arrived, including a marked squad with its emergency lights flashing. The driver of the stolen vehicle ignored the deputies trying to stop him and crashed into an unmarked squad before going through a ditch and driving back onto 71st St.

The vehicle, a 2014 Jeep Patriot, fled at a high rate of speed turning south onto 89th Ave. and then east onto 77th St. The vehicle veered off the road at the point where 77th St. turns south and becomes 90th Ave.

The vehicle went into a cornfield, continued east through a bean field, went across Co. Rd. 55 and into another corn field before crashing into a line of trees.

Deputies set up a perimeter and were assisted by a Rogers Police Dept.  K-9 and a helicopter from the Minnesota State Patrol in searching for the male driver and a female occupant who fled from the vehicle after it crashed.

Investigators were unable to locate either party.

However, investigators  were able to identify the driver of the stolen vehicle as Jeremiah Harvey Schwarzkopf and the passenger as Victoria Ann Miller, 24, based on a call from a resident a few blocks over on 100th Ave. SE.

That call came in at approximately 4:37 p.m. with the caller saying a male matching Schwarzkopf’s description and a female were in the area of the 7000 block of 100th Ave. SE and told a resident in that area that they had gotten into trouble and needed help.

The male and female had no shoes on and were walking north from the area. Deputies set up a perimeter and searched for the suspects but were unable to locate them.

On the morning of Oct. 6, deputies received a call from a resident in the 7200 block of 100th Ave. SE, alerting them to a suspicious female. Deputies responded and arrested Miller.

According to Stearns County court records, Schwarzkopf had previously been convicted of a felony in 2014 for fleeing police in a motor vehicle. At that time, he was sentenced to serve 17 months in prison.
