Mitchell and Michael Sakry of Becker Boy Scout Troop 29 have earned Eagle Palms. Eagle Palms represent additional recognition for an Eagle Scout who has stayed active in his unit. In order to receive this recognition, he must also continue to earn merit badges. After making Eagle Scout, palms are earned in this order - Bronze, Gold and then Silver. Scouts are able to double Palm which means you can start over and work to earn a second set of Palms. As rare as the Eagle Rank is, Eagle Palms are much rarer. Only one in 10 Eagle Scouts earn an Eagle Palm, let alone double Palms.
Mitchell recently received his first Bronze Palm, Michael has received his double Bronze Palm and has now aged out of Boy Scouts meaning he has turned 18.
Mitchell and Michael are the son of Sheileen and Tim Sakry of Becker. Mitchell and Michael are the grandson of Henry and Phyllis Sakry and Terese and John Weis of St. Cloud.
Mitchell and Michael are avid campers. Both are active with their community and enjoy fishing, hunting, water sports and four wheeling. Mitchell will start 9th grade this fall and plans on joining the Becker Trap Team. Michael will be attending SCSU this fall for mechanical engineering.
