Results are in!

Tuesday’s lines to vote in person at local polling stations were astonishing as voters lined the sidewalks and parking lots to cast their votes in the 2022 midterm election.

Polling stations opened their doors at 7 a.m. and polls stayed open until 8 p.m..

Governor Race

Tim Walz re-gained the Governor seat by beating Scott Jensen 52% to 45%.

Attorney General

Keith Ellison defeated Jim Schultz with 1,254,406 votes to 1,233,600.

Secretary of State

Steve Simon was declared winner over. Kim Crockett with 55% of the vote to 45%.

Auditor

Julie Blaha and Ryan Wilson were virtually tied as of press time.

Congressional District 6

Incumbent Tom Emmer  defeated Jeanne Hendricks with 62% of the vote compared to 38%.

State Senator District 27

Andrew Mathews  beat Emy Minzel with 72% of the vote compared to 28%.

State Senator District 29

Bruce Anderson  beat Chris Brazelton with 68% of the vote to 32%.

State Representative District 27A

Incumbent Shane Mekeland received 71% of the vote to beat Ron Thiessen’s 29%.

State Representative District 29A

Joe McDonald garnered 71% of the vote over Sherri Leyda’s 29%.

Sherburne County Commissioner District 2

Raeanne Danielowski garnered 3,878 votes to Paul A. Fanberg’s 2,944. 

Sherburne County Commissioner District 3

Gregg Felber beat Mark A Swanson by 52  votes with 50% of the votes to Swanson’s 49%. 

Sherburne County Commissioner District 4

Jerome (Lefty) Kleis lost to Gary H. Gray, who recieved 52% of the votes versus 47% for Kleis. 

Sherburne County Auditor/Treasurer

Diane Arnold took 61% of the votes over Chad Westberg’s 39%.

Sherburne County Recorder

Michelle Ashe (uncontested) won with 27,329 votes.

Sherburne County Sheriff

Joel Brott (uncontested) won with 29,540 votes.

Sherburne County Attorney

Kathleen A. Heaney (uncontested) won with 27,284 votes.

Soil and Water Supervisor District 1

Michael W. Zieska (uncontested) won with 42,675 votes.

Soil and Water Supervisor District 2

Christine Jurek (uncontested) won with 27,002 votes.

Soil and Water Supervisor District 3

William Daluge (uncontested) won with 42,428 votes.

Soil and Water Supervisor District 4

Jason C. Selvog (uncontested) won with 26,944votes.

Wright County Sheriff

Sean Deringer (uncontested) won with 47,411votes.

Wright County Attorney

Brian A. Lutes (uncontested) won with 43,425 votes.

Wright County Commissioner District 1

Tina Diedrick garnered 56% of the votes over Terry Streges 43% 

Wright County Commissioner District 3

Jeanne Holland garnered 52% of the votes over Michael Potter’s 47% 

Wright County Commissioner District 4

Nadine Schoen garnered 52% of the votes over Mary L. Wetter’s 48% 

Big Lake Council

Ken Halvorson (2,215 votes) and Kim Noding (2,162 votes) beat out Jack Merwin (1,365 votes) for two seats. 

ISD #727 (Big Lake) School Board Member

Lenette Brown (3,462 votes) Tonya Reasoner (3,638 votes) and Ashley Schabilion (3,913 votes) won the three seats open. 

Associate Justice - Supreme Court 3

Gordon Moore  ran uncontested).

Associate Justice - Supreme Court 6

Natalie E. Hudson  ran uncontested.

Judges - Court of Appeals 1-19

All candidates ran uncontested.

Judges - 10th District Court 2-45

All candidates ran uncontested.

Becker Council

Rick Hendrickson (1,114 votes) and Robin Dingmann (1,059 votes) retained their two seats. 

ISD #726 (Becker) School Board Member

Aaron Jurek (2,453 votes), Corey Stanger (2,402 votes) and Pete Weismann (2,063 votes) won the three seats over Nathan Koubsky (1,363  votes), Keri Rickard (1,312 votes), Sarah Colford (1,165 votes) and Renee Regel (732 votes). 

ISD #726 (Becker) School Board Member - Special Election

Troy Berning (2,135  votes)and Ryan Hubbard (3,001  votes) won the two seats over Carla Berger (1,790 votes).

Haven Town Supervisor

Seats C, D and E are running uncontested with Joseph Then (733 votes), Bruce Hentges (665 votes) and Randy Linn (726  votes) winning.

Haven Town Question 1

549 voters slected “yes” to this question over 343”nos”.

Haven Town Question 2

634 voters selected “yes” to this question over 249”nos”. 

ISD #742 (St. Cloud) School Board Member

Zachary Dorholt (16,371 votes), Natalie Ringsmuth (14,694 votes) and Heather Weems (14,174 votes) won the three seats over Mike Bueckers (13,530 votes), Nicole Rierson (12,669 votes) and Theresa Carlstedt (10,131 votes).

Clearwater Twp

Scott Miller ran uncontested and received 555 votes.

Clearwater Twp Clerk

Jean Just ran uncontested and won with 558 votes.
