Record Number Of Attendees At Clear Lake Fire Dept. Open House

There were a record number of attendees at the Clear Lake Fire Dept.’s annual fire and rescue open house last Saturday, with people lined up waiting for the event to start.
 
The open house featured a free lunch, fire truck rides, a visit from a North Memorial helicopter, games, button making and information from the Red Cross and BNSF on railroad safety. Drawings were held for bicycles, bike helmets and smoke detectors. 
 
Connexus Energy held presentations on electrical safety and the Sherburne County K-9 gave a presentation with their service dog, Riggs. 
 
Drawing for raffle ticket winners was held at 3 p.m., with all profits made from ticket sales going towards equipment for the department.
 
“I can’t begin to express how much support we get from our small community and all of the hard work from the firefighters and their families to make this a successful event,” said Firefighter Kari Mechtel.
