Joe Prom, Becker Public Schools director of business services for the last eight years, issued his resignation last month to attain a position at a school district closer to his home town of St. Cloud.

 

At Monday’s Becker School Board meeting, Kevin Januszewski — former executive director of business services in St. Cloud — was hired by the board in a 3-2 vote.

 

Prom is a graduate of SCSU and G. R. Herberger College of Business and has worked in Becker since 2010. Prior to that, Prom was a controller in the St. Cloud School District 742 for three years and before that worked as an auditor with Kern, DeWenter, Viere, Ltd. for nearly five years.

 

Januszewski is a Perham HS graduate and attended SCSU and Minnesota State, Moorhead. He has worked at St. Cloud School District 742 for 16 years. At the time of his departure, Januszewski's salary was $142,555. At Becker, he has accepted an annual salary of $108,000.

 

The business services department is responsible for all financial operations of the district including payroll, purchasing, accounts payable and accounts receivable. 

 

The director of business services is also responsible for oversight of buildings and grounds, food service, and transportation.
