Primary School Holds Concert To Celebrate Thankfulness

Wearing jaunty, handmade construction paper turkey hats, Becker Primary School first-graders gave an exuberant concert to family and friends Thursday and Friday afternoons.

The concert, titled “Thankful for Family,” featured six songs by the first-graders, including We Give Thanks, Things I’m Thankful For, Goin’ on a Sleigh Ride and Hot Chocolate.

During the song Tiny Little Miracles, the students were given battery-operated tealights to hold while the lights were dimmed, adding a warm candle-lit glow.
The concert wrapped up with an enthusiastically sung patriotic medley that included Grand Old Flag, This Land is Your Land and America.

Students took turns talking about things they were thankful for before each song.

The concert was conducted by music teachers Erika Bakke and Ruthanne Eldred.
