To celebrate National Poetry Month in April, the Sherburne History Center is once again hosting their annual Poetry Showcase.
The center received 32 poem submissions from very talented poets in the community. The poems will be on display in their lobby gallery and on their website for the entire month.
This showcase relies on community support. Vote for one’s favorite poem or poems as many times as one likes. Votes cost $3 each. The poem with the most votes gets half of the vote earnings in the form of a cash prize.
Visit SHC’s website to view and vote: https://www.sherburnehistorycenter.org/poetryvoting.
A Poetry Reading/Open Mic will also take place at the Sherburne History Center Sat., April 5 at 2 p.m. This event is open to the public and one does not need to be a showcase participant to share one’s poetry.
Sherburne History Center is located at 10775 27th Ave SE in Becker. They strive to connect the community to the county’s history through free, family activities, educational programs, engaging exhibits, and public access to an extensive research library and local, cultural artifacts.
