Community Development Director Marie Pflipsen was recently honored with the Emerging Professional of the Year Award by the Economic Development Association of Minnesota (EDAM).
EDAM presented eight awards to projects and professionals in the economic development industry who have gone above and beyond or faced significant challenges in the last year.
“These awards highlight what is great about Minnesota,” said Matt Brown, 2019 EDAM President.
“Innovative people, organizations and projects that continue to make this an exceptional place to live, work and play.”
Pflipsen was honored at Tuesday’s Becker City Council meeting and is being recognized for outstanding achievement by an emerging leader with less than five years of experience (Pflipsen has three years at the City of Becker) in economic development industry who shows promising leadership skills and positively impacts their organization, community and/or region through economic development.
EDAM is a state-wide association of professionals who specialize in economic development. Their membership consists of public, private and non-profit professionals who are interested in staying informed and connected to current economic development strategies and best practices.
