“Peter Pan Jr. ®” Ready For Take Off

Cast and crew worked feverishly this week in the BHS Performing Arts Center to put the finishing touches on the Becker Middle School production of “Peter Pan Jr. ®” that opened a three-day run Friday night.  The musical is based on the popular Disney film, which took its inspiration from the J.M. Barrie classic tale about a boy who would not grow up.

The show includes new arrangements of classic Disney songs like "Following the Leader," "You Can Fly," "The Second Star to the Right" and "Yo Ho, A Pirate's Life for Me."

Wendy Darling loves to tell stories to her brothers, Michael and John. But when her father announces she must move out of the nursery, Peter Pan drops by for a visit.  After teaching them that they can fly, he whisks the Darling children away to mystical Never Land, where they have adventures aplenty with the Lost Boys, Mermaids, Indians and the deliciously despicable Captain Hook and his scurvy band of sea rovers.

Direction by Greg Lynch, musical direction by Joe Rand and set design by Rich Kimmerle.

Remaining performances are today at 4:00 p.m. and a closing Sunday matinee at 2:00 p.m., all in the PAC.  Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for students and seniors and $3 for children under 10 for the Sunday matinee only.
