Palmer Township Home Saved By Trio Of Fire Departments

Firefighters from three area communities helped save a Palmer Township home that was on fire Saturday.

Firefighters from Clear Lake, Becker and Clearwater arrived at the home of Virginia Deadrick at around 4:30 p.m. to find the attached garage engulfed in flames.

The home is located near Briggs Lake at 9839 54th St. SE in Clear Lake.

The dutiful firefighters quickly extinguished the fire and had the scene quickly cleared in just over an hour.

Clear Lake Assistant Fire Chief Chad McKay said a closed garage door helped to minimize damage to the structure. If open, he says Saturday’s blustery weather could have increased the intensity of the fire.

The fire is still under investigation to find the cause of the blaze. No injuries were reported.
