Nhs Students Attend Forum In Brainerd

Becker High School National Honor Society leaders and executive board members — junior Alana Berger, senior Liz Moeller, senior Megan Nelson, senior Braeden Beutz, senior Brady Gruenhagen and senior Amber Vogl — attended the 2018 MAHS/MASC (Minnesota Association of Honor Societies and Minnesota Associate of Student Councils) Leadership Forum at Cragun's Resort in Brainerd last weekend.

The leadership forum is an opportunity for student leaders to receive training and skills to use throughout their upcoming school year and beyond.

Speaker Kyle Willkom inspired the students to never give up in the pursuit of their dreams. Willkom explained that too often students give up without even showing up, pleading with them to take risks and try new things.

The students also heard from Kent Mollberg, who presented information on internet safety.

Students also had the opportunity to network with other students from across the state.

Finally, students were presented with their state service project task for the year — Special Olympics.

Becker’s NHS students are advised by Melissa Nicolas.
