New Region Wide Walk Bike Pan Nears Completion

The new Regional Active Transportation Plan for Benton, Sherburne, Stearns, and Wright Counties is nearing completion and will be unveiled at an open house Tues., Oct. 6 from 6 to 8 pm at the Sherburne History Center, located at 10775 27th Avenue Southeast, Becker MN 55308.

The Plan, developed jointly by the public health departments of Benton, Sherburne, Stearns, and Wright Counties under the Statewide Health Improvement Program (SHIP), is the first of its kind for the region, and includes extensive recommendations for making walking and biking a more convenient and useful option for people’s daily travel. It identifies opportunities to improve safety and comfort for people walking and biking, and provides action-oriented steps to advance active transportation in the region.

The public is invited to the open house to learn about the plan, ask questions, and provide valuable feedback through fun and interactive activities and questions.
