During their meeting Tuesday night, Chairman Gary Gray updated the Clear Lake Twp. board on the status of the new fire department fill station, which he hopes will be up and ready for use by the end of summer.
NextEra Energy Resources is leasing land on Co, Rd. 8 for a solar farm project that has an existing well and irrigation system on the property; when asked they indicated they would be willing to allow the Clear Lake Fire Dept. to use it as a fill station.
The attorneys for the county, the township and the solar farm are working together on the legal end of the project.
“This will be beneficial for us and other fire departments like Clearwater, Becker and Sauk Rapids,” said Gray. “It’s got the potential to be used and will be there if it’s needed.”
Road Report

He also proposed the township approve two loads of gravel to fill in a dip on 80th Ave. which had been suggested by the contractor. Both projects were approved.
Eyk presented the board with two partial payments for approval, $2,450 to Allied Blacktop for work done last year, and $3,548 to TS Dirtworks for the 80th Ave. project. Both payments were approved.
He informed them Schendzielos recommended two yield signs be placed at 64th and 106th in River Oaks due to limited visibility, which the board agreed to.
