National Day of Prayer to be held Thurs. May 2

The National Day of Prayer is an annual observance held on the first Thursday of May, inviting people of all faiths to pray for America. The event was created 73 years ago by a joint resolution of the United States Congress, and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman.

All are welcome to pray at the annual event held Thursday, May 2nd, 2024. The theme verse for this year is 2 Samuel 22:29-31, which states: For you are my lamp, O LORD, and my God lightens my darkness. For by you I can run against a troop, and by my God I can leap over a wall. This God-His way is perfect; the word of the LORD proves true; he is a shield for all those who take refuge in him.
