To the excitement of students, the Minnesota Zoomobile visited Clearview Elementary Monday morning.
The students were introduced to real animals from around the world, including a Red-Tailed Hawk from North America, a Giant African Millipede, a Brazilian Three-Banded Armadillo, and a possum, which originated in South America but have migrated all the way into Canada on their own.
The Zoomobile naturalist taught the students facts and interesting information about each animal, walking around the seated students so each had the opportunity to view the animals up close.
Student volunteers from each class were selected to touch some of the animals and provide a description of what they felt like to the rest of their classmates.
The Minnesota Zoomobile’s naturalists travel to schools and community events across the state, providing education and entertainment to a variety of audiences using live animals, artifacts, story telling and audience participation. The goal of all Zoomobile programs is to inspire respect and a sense of stewardship for all life on earth.
